Dr Hariyati Abdulmajid Freelance Consultant
Dr. Hariyati Shahrima Abdul Majid, or Hari, obtained her PhD in Psychology (Health) in 2001, MSc in Applied Psychology, both from the University of Surrey in the UK (1996) and her BSc (Psychology) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the USA (1992). She served as an academician at International Islamic University for more than 20 years before retiring in 2017 to become a caregiver for her late father. She later joined Naluri Hidup as a Chief Health Psychologist until March 2023. A HRD Corp certified trainer, Dr. Hari conducts training for medical and allied health professionals in government and private hospitals on various topics such as Therapeutic Communication, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychological First Aid. She has also been conducting a series of trainings for caregivers of patients with diabetes under the Sama Sama Program with Novo Nordisk and KKM. Hari is an active member of MERCY Malaysia (for which she was an EXCO for 10 years), Malaysian Diabetes Educators Society, Persatuan Hospice Negeri Sembilan and the American Psychological Association.
